Commercial & Industrial Electrical

Electrical work delivered in active, secure environments.

A TRUSTED PARTNERSHIP

Brompton Bicycle has been handcrafting its iconic folding bikes at its Greenford factory since 1975.

Britain's largest bicycle manufacturer and a global brand sold in over 47 countries, they needed an electrical contractor who understood the demands of a live, high-output production environment.

BEC Electrical have been that contractor for nearly 20 years.

The Challenge

Unit 16 required complete electrical infrastructure delivered from scratch, with multiple trades on site and a fixed move-in date that couldn't move.

SHELL TO COMPLETION

The unit was handed to BEC as an empty shell. Full electrical infrastructure design and installation was required from the ground up.

PROGRAMME CRITICAL

The project had a fixed completion date. The client needed to move in and begin operations on time, with no room for delay.

LATE STAGE CHANGES

Client-driven scope changes were requested during delivery. These were accommodated without pushing back the handover date.

The APPROACH

BEC led the project with a planning-first mindset, taking full design responsibility and managing coordination across all trades from start to finish.

We have used BEC Electrical for nearly 20 years during which time they have undertaken the electrical installation at two industrial units in Brentford before we moved in. We have also used them for the maintenance of our site electric circuits, and all the additional installation of power supplies, lighting and more as we have grown our production capacity from 5,000 to 45,000 bikes per annum over the 20 years.

Whenever we have had a breakdown condition BEC has always been very responsive to our needs, and when necessary have worked at weekends and occasionally overnight to minimise the impact on our production departments.
